National Recognition for North Carolina Montessori Schools
Congratulations to MANC Member Schools - Park Road Montessori and Highland Mills Montessori!
Twenty-one schools in CMS have earned merit awards from Magnet Schools of America. They were judged on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school's magnet theme.
The recipients are:
National Magnet School of Excellence: Park Road Montessori
National Magnet School of Distinction: Highland Mill Montessori
RECOGNITION OF THE MONTESSORI CREDENTIAL BY NC DCDEE
The North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education: Workforce Education Unit has agreed to assess the Montessori Early Childhood credential from a Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) as equivalent to the maximum of 30 semester credit hours for teachers who have earned a Bachelor’s Degree. This recognition gives the maximum of 7 education points toward a school’s Star Rated License.
